Dining Out

We all love food… well we wouldn’t be here without it, would we? And what more pleasurable social event can there be than going out to dine with family or friends. I suppose there are some valid underlying reasons for this situation because, over countless millennia, members of family and tribal units were dependent upon each other for their food gathering or hunting… and then sat down together as family groups to eat the rewards of their endeavours. So there are some deep underlying roots for our communal eating behaviour!

But as well as our increasing demand for quality, locally produced food that we can buy in retail outlets, there is also a parallel trend in our choice of eating establishments.  We now also increasingly like to know the origins and history of the food we eat. Therefore whether it be a restaurant, bistro cafe, tearoom or takeaway food establishment such as the traditional British fish and chip shop… we are far more discerning. Fortunately, as we seek out a range of traditional cuisine and alternatives from around the globe, there are a growing number of eating places that take a pride in the quality of the food they use and where they source such produce.
